Lucene Caropreso directs family, addiction, and compulsive behavior therapeutic programs.

Ms. Caropreso entered the mental health field in 1979. She joined the staff at Bunker Hill Consultation Center in 1992 as a clinical specialist. She was formerly Chief of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services at Somerset Medical Center in NJ, Family Counselor at the S.T.A.R. Program, and a clinician and consultant at the Carrier Foundation.

Her undergraduate degree was earned at Trenton State College (The College of New Jersey) in art therapy/psychology and her Masters degree from Temple University in therapeutic recreation /psychology. Her clinical skills include specialized training in addictions, EMDR, couples counseling, and hypnotherapy.

Ms. Caropreso is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Certified Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Jersey , a Tobacco Dependence Treatment Specialist, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, and Nationally Certified Addictions Specialist. She keeps her clinical knowledge base and skills current and state of the art with yearly continuing education and conference involvement.

In addition to providing counseling to individuals, couples, family members, and significant others affected by addiction, her counseling addresses areas of depression, loss, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma and compulsive behaviors. She utilizes a blend of therapeutic approaches, tailored to the client, in the therapeutic setting. These approaches include, but are not limited to, traditional verbal therapies, cognitive restructuring, art/creative arts therapy, EMDR, hypnotherapy, therapeutic recreation intervention, 12-step and Judeo-Christian counseling.

She has spoken at civic and faith based organizations. Speaking engagements are by request.
